Coronavirus: Iran's Official Death Toll Passes 22,700


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Health Ministry spokeswoman, Sima Sadat Lari, said on Thursday that the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 395,488 and the death toll is above 22,700.

“With 129 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 22,798. Unfortunately, we have had 2,063 new cases since yesterday,” Lari said on state TV.

She also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 340,842.

The coronavirus outbreak has infected over 28 million people around the world. The global death toll from the pandemic is now more than 908,000.
