Iran's Coronavirus Death Toll Exceeds 31,900


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran announced Friday that its death toll from the coronavirus has surpassed 31,900.

Health ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari told state TV that 6,134 new cases were identified in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total number of identified cases to 556,891.

She added that the total death toll from the outbreak had reached 31,985 with 335 new deaths.

Lari said that 4,933 coronavirus patients are in critical condition.

She also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 446,685.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 42 million and the death toll has exceeded 1.14 million.
