Iran, Nicaragua Keen to Boost Ties


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Nicaragua weighed plans for the expansion of relations between the two countries.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who has traveled to Bolivia, held a telephone conversation with his Nicaraguan counterpart Denis Ronaldo Moncada on Saturday.

Stressing the need for the promotion of friendly relations between the two nations, Zarif hoped to have the opportunity to visit Nicaragua soon.

For his part, the Nicaraguan foreign minister emphasized the necessity of promoting cooperation between Managua and Tehran, IRNA reported.

Zarif is in Bolivia to take part in the inauguration of new Bolivian President Luis Arce.

The top Iranian diplomat visited Venezuela and Cuba before heading to Bolivia.
