Iran's Daily Coronavirus Death Toll Exceeds 450


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s health ministry on Thursday reported a rise of 11,517 in the number of daily coronavirus cases, bringing total cases in the country to 726,585.

Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari told state TV that 457 people had died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 40,121.

More than 541,566 patients have recovered from the viral infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman said.

Iran’s government has imposed restrictions as the country battles a third wave of the virus. Starting on Tuesday, for one month, all non-essential businesses must close at 6 p.m.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 52.5 million and the death toll has exceeded 1,291,000.
