Iran Congratulates Oman on National Day
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the Omani people and government on the Arab country’s National Day.
In a message to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said on Wednesday, Rouhani expressed hope for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Muscat.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate Your Excellency and the noble people of your country on the National Day of the Sultanate of Oman,” the president said.
“I hope relations between the two friendly countries will further grow in light of brotherhood, cooperation and joint collaboration on all fronts,” Rouhani added, according to the government’s website.
Oman celebrates its National Day on November 18, the birthday of late Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said, who reigned from 1970 to January 2020.
Sultan Qaboos played an important role in facilitating the early stages of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers, which led to a comprehensive deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in July 2015.
