US’ Max Pressure Ends in Max Failure: Iranian Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry attributed the US state secretary’s frustration to the total failure of Washington’s policy of maximum pressure on Tehran.

In a post on his Twitter account on Wednesday, Saeed Khatibzadeh pointed to the sense of frustration that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is experiencing after defeat of Washington’s plots against Iran.

The outgoing US state secretary’s frustration is understandable as “his max pressure policy reached a max failure,” Khatibzadeh said.

The spokesman also attached a link of his recent interview with Press TV about the US economic terrorism against Iran, JCPOA's future, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the situation in Afghanistan, and other topics.

Last week, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the world has realized that the policy of maximum pressure against Tehran has been ineffective and the era of such policies is long gone.

“All signs in the US and elsewhere in the world indicate that the world has come to realize that (the policy of) maximum pressure does not work and its era is over,” Rouhani said, adding that the Iranian nation will be able to overcome the pressures and defeat the sanctions through resistance and relying on the guidelines of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
