No Crime against Iranian Nation to Remain Unanswered: Defense Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami underlined the country’s resolve to track down and punish those behind the assassination of top scientists Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

Addressing a funeral procession held in Tehran on Monday for Martyr Fakhrizadeh, Brigadier General Hatami said the enemy knows well that “we will certainly chase the criminals (who killed the scientist)”.

No crime against the Iranian will go unanswered, the defense minister added.

He also thanked the countries that have condemned the terrorist attack but warned the international organizations refusing to denounce the assassination that it only emboldens terrorists.

Fakhrizadeh, who headed the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), was targeted on Friday in a multi-pronged attack involving at least one explosion and small fire by a number of assailants in Absard city of Damavand County, Tehran Province.

After sustaining injuries from the car explosion and bullets, he was taken to the hospital with a helicopter, but succumbed to injuries a few hours later.

Iranian government officials and military commanders have hinted that the Israeli regime could have been behind the terror attack, vowing harsh revenge against all the criminals involved.
