Police Clash with Protesters during Pro-Trump Rally in Oregon (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Multiple arrests were made at a pro-Trump rally which took place in Salem, Oregon on Friday.
The rally in question was a civil disobedience rally against COVID-19 measures currently in place.
Flares appeared to be thrown in the direction of police, as protesters faced off, before being held back by police officers. Pepper balls and flash bangs were used in an effort to disperse the protesters. The Salam Police Department tweeted that they did not use tear gas.
Counter-protesters were also in attendance.
Many protesters were armed, including scores of the group known as the 'Proud Boys.' A heavy police presence followed the protest all day, amid fears that violence would erupt, as previous seen in rallies attended by Proud Boys.
