IPL: Persepolis Edges Mas Rafsanjan


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team edged past Mes Rafsanjan 1-0 in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Tuesday.

In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Persepolis captain Jalal Hosseini opened the goal with a header six minutes into the second half.

Mes forward Mohammad Hossein Karimzadeh was sent off in the 78th minute.

Shortly after, Persepolis put the visiting team under pressure but their players lacked the cutting edge.

Persepolis moved to third place with 24 points and one game in hands.

Esteghlal and Sepahan are first and second with 24 and 25 points, respectively.
