Mahdi Olad Takes Gold at World Para Athletics Grand Prix


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mahdi Olad of Iran claimed a gold medal on Day 3 of the 2021 World Para Athletics Grand Prix on Friday.

The Iranian Para athlete finished in first place at the Men's Discus Throw F11.

Olad, who had previously won a gold medal at Men’s Shot Put F11, seized the gold with a 39.06 meters throw.

The Russian participant snatched a silver with 35.06 meters and the bronze medal went to Uzbekistan’s athlete who threw 31.85 meters.

Some 471 Para athletes from 52 countries are confirmed for the four-day competition at the Dubai Club for People of Determination, part of the UAE’s Fazza International Athletics Championships.
