Iran, Ireland Hold Political Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian and Irish diplomats attended a new round of political negotiations between the two countries via videoconference.

The webinar, held on Tuesday, was co-chaired by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araqchi and Political Director of Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Sonja Hyland.

In the online meeting, also attended by Iran’s ambassador to Dunlin, the two sides discussed the latest developments surrounding the JCPOA as well as the bilateral, regional and international cooperation between the two countries.

Last month, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney convened a videoconference for talks about the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and the relations between Tehran and Dublin.

The Irish foreign minister has said his country would reopen its embassy in Tehran.
