Protesters Rally against 'Vaccine Passport' in Paris (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Protesters held rallies in Paris on Saturday against anti-coronavirus measures and vaccine passports.
Demonstrators could be seen holding signs reading 'No to vaccine passport' and 'Liberate France' and singing the French national anthem.
"The vaccine passport erases vaccination freedom," said Floriant Philippot, leader of 'The Patriots,' a nationalistic and Eurosceptic party. "We do not accept to have a passport that discriminates on the basis of the health conditions of people."
France has registered more than 3.5 million cases of COVID-19 and 83,546 related deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, and has put in place a curfew and severely limited non-EU travel over concerns about the spread of new coronavirus variants.
