Over 8,200 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry reported more than 8,200 new coronavirus cases on Thursday.

The Health Ministry’s spokesman said today that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has reached 1,607,081 after the detection of 8,206 new cases since Wednesday noon.

Unfortunately, 94 coronavirus patients have died over the past 24 hours, bringing the overall coronavirus death toll in Iran to 59,830, Sima Sadat Lari added.   

More than 1,372,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, according to the spokeswoman.

Lari also said over 10.6 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of those who have contracted the coronavirus in the world has surpassed 113 million and the global death toll has exceeded 2.51 million.
