74 Iranian Died Of COVID-19 Infections in Last 24 Hours: Health Officials


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran reached 74 on Tuesday, with more than 7200 COVID-19 patients have been infected with disease during the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry reported.

Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said during a daily briefing on Tuesday that a total of 61,951 people have died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), with 7,290 new cases of infection were found over the past 24 hours, 749 of whom were hospitalized.

She went on to say that 1,555,766 patients have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 1,815,712 infected people.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,865 patients have critical health conditions and are being treated in intensive care units because of more severe infection, the spokeswoman noted.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 124,290,090 and the death toll has exceeded 2.7 million.
