All of Iran’s Air Defense Equipment Homegrown: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – All of the gears of Iran’s Air Defense are locally-made, a senior commander said.

Speaking during visit to a radar site in the western city of Hamedan, Air Defense Commander Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi Fard said that all of the force’s equipment and gears are homegrown.

He added that the Air Defense will continue on the path of defending the country’s airspace more powerfully in the new Iranian calendar year that began on March 21.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere, including in the field of Air Defense.

Back in August, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei commended the Iranian Air Defense forces for their contribution to national security.

“The country owes its security to Air Defense’ preparedness and wakefulness,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at the time.
