Iranian MPs to Look Into 25-Year China Deal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian lawmakers in two separate parliamentary commissions are going to take stock of a 25-year cooperation agreement recently signed by Tehran and Beijing.

Chairpersons of two commissions of the Parliament told Tasnim that their colleagues will hold meetings on Tuesday afternoon to survey the strategic document on 25-year cooperation between Iran and China.

The Parliament’s Economic Commission will be discussing the agreement in a meeting to be attended by the governor of the Central Bank of Iran and the Minister of Economy, an MP said.

Last month, the foreign ministers of Iran and China signed the 25-year agreement in Tehran to develop cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The Iran-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was announced in a joint statement during a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Tehran in 2016.
