TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani blamed the UK variant of the coronavirus spreading from Iraq for a new wave of the pandemic that has increased fatality rates in Iran.

Speaking at a Saturday session of the Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters, Rouhani said the main cause of the fourth wave of pandemic in Iran has been the UK variant of the virus that has spread from Iraq through the border provinces of Khuzestan and Ilam in western Iran.
