COVID Daily Deaths in Iran Pass 450


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 450 coronavirus patients died in Iran and over 24,000 new cases were detected in the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Thursday that 453 coronavirus patients have died across the country over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 68,366.

Sima Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 2,335,900 following the detection of 24,092 new cases since yesterday, adding that 3,438 new cases have been admitted to the hospital.

More than 1,837,500 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman added.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,038 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

She also said more that more than 14.85 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and 518,904 people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 144 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.07 million.
