Iran’s Motamedi Wins Gold at Asian Weightlifting C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Rasoul Motamedi from Iran claimed a gold medal at the 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Saturday.
He cleared 173kg on snatch and 227kg on clean and jerk to win a gold with a total of 400kg.
Qatari lifter Fares El-Bakh claimed a silver with a total lift of 396kg.
Artyom Antropov from Kazakhstan won the bronze medal with 390kg.
Iran’s Kianoush Rostami had previously won a gold medal in the 89kg while Sohrab Moradi claimed a silver in 96kg.
The rescheduled 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships (AWC) are taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from April 16-25, 2021.
