Iran Volleyball Team in Bubble Conditions in Italy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s national volleyball team arrived in Rimini, Italy Monday night to participate in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL).

The event is taking place in bubble conditions, after last year's edition had to be cancelled because of the global health crisis. Vladimir Alekno’s team will open the event with a match against Japan on Friday.

The USA is the reigning VNL champion, having won both the 2018 and 2019 editions of the tournament.

The 16-team tournament begins with a round-robin phase where each side will play 15 games.

Four teams will advance to the semi-finals.
