Russian Setter Kobzar Interested in Seeing Iran’s Lineup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russia national volleyball team setter Igor Kobzar says that it was interesting to see this Iranian starting six.
Russia defeated Iran 3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-20,25-17) on Week 2 of the 2021 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on Saturday.
“Every win is important. Iran coach Vladimir Alekno knows most of the Russian players and our style of play, but we didn't try to surprise him with our lineup or with anything else,” Kobzar said in the post-match news conference.
“We just wanted to play our game and show our best. Step by step, we want to improve. It was interesting to see this Iranian starting six, and I think it helped Iran to play without pressure,” he added.
