Over 10,000 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry reported more than 10,000 new coronavirus cases on Thursday.

The ministry said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 3.07 million following the detection of 10,291 new cases since Wednesday.

It added that of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 1,296 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

According to the ministry, the disease has taken the lives of 139 patients over the past 24 hours, brining the total death toll to 82,619.

It went on to say that nearly 22.7 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 4.36 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.

Worldwide, the coronavirus has infected more than 177 million people and taken over 3.85 million lives.
