Over 2,700 New COVID Cases Hospitalized in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients who have been admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours surpassed 2,700, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
Sima Sadat Lari announced at a press conference that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 3.6 million following the detection of 27,379 new cases since yesterday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 2,755 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.
At least 3,185,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman added.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 87,837, saying the disease has taken the lives of 213 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,518 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 192 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.13 million.
