Takfiri Terrorist Cell Smashed in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian security forces have disbanded a Takfiri terrorist group that had plans to carry out simultaneous terrorist attacks in several provinces under the auspices of the intelligence services of two foreign countries, an official said.

Director of the Justice Ministry’s bureau in Iran’s southern province of Fars announced on Monday that members of the nucleus of the Takfiri terrorist cell have been identified and captured in the province in a joint operation launched by the Intelligence Ministry and the Police forces.

According to Kazem Mousavi, 11 active members of the terrorist group in Fars and 25 other members in six eastern and western provinces have been arrested in the operation.

The terrorist group had released video clips in the virtual space in order to create terror, he added, noting that large amounts of ammunition and weapons have been confiscated from its members.

Mousavi also noted that the group’s ringleaders have been identified in foreign countries.

The group had plans to carry out simultaneous terrorist attacks in several provinces of Iran with the intelligence and financial support provided by the intelligence services of a European and a regional country, the official stated.
