Iran’s Ganjzadeh Takes Gold: Tokyo 2020

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's Sajad Ganjzadeh won the gold medal in the men's karate kumite competition in the +75kg category on Saturday.

He won the Olympic gold medal after final opponent Tareg Hamedi from Saudi Arabi was given a disqualification penalty for kicking Ganjzadeh hard in the upper body or head.

Ganjzadeh was carried away on a stretcher.

Turkey's Ugur Aktas and Japan's Ryutaro Araga won the bronze medals.
