Iraq Wants to Qualify for 2022 World Cup: Advocaat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iraq national football team coach Dick Advocaat said they want to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

Iraq football team has started its training camp in Spain.

“We want to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and we only have a chance if everyone commits to that goal,” said the 73-year-old coach.

“We are now preparing for the qualifying matches in September, where we will face South Korea and Iran. The training camp will help me to know my players better,” Advocaat added.

Iraq will play South Korea on September 1, and meet Iran six days later. Other opponents in Group A are Lebanon, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
