Iraq Launches Three-Pronged Security Operation on Border with Syria


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iraqi Border Guard Command declared on Tuesday the start of a new three-pronged security operation on the Syrian border.

The Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that the Border Force Commander Lieutenant General Hamid Al-Husseini has initiated Operation Martyrs Avenge from 6 axes.

Al-Husseini stated that the operation includes the Iraqi-Syrian border strip in Alwaleed triangle, noting that three military formations participated in the operation, namely, the Border Forces Command, the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Iraqi Army with the Air support.
