President Urges Development of Smart System to Contain Pandemic in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called for efforts to develop a smart control system for the battle with the coronavirus pandemic on the basis of detailed information and intelligent decisions.

In a meeting with the heads of the specialized committees of the Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters on Thursday, Raisi welcomed the idea of formation of a smart system for controlling the pandemic, stressing the need for accelerated efforts to complete the system.

He said the smart system would be a major step in the course of containing the contagious disease since it allows for reverse engineering in the process of monitoring and control and also paves the way for intelligent decisions and actions in preventing the spread of the pandemic by collecting and processing data.

The president further gave an assurance that there are adequate financial resources for the import of COVID vaccines, noting that plans to supply the budget for the import of vaccine will be a top priority of the administration.

In remarks on August 11, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei referred to the new wave of the coronavirus pandemic as the first and foremost issue of Iran, calling for decisive action and decisions to tackle it.
