Iran Ready to Ship More Fuel to Lebanon If Necessary: FM


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of The Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amirabdollahian told the former Lebanese minister of foreign affairs, Gebran Bassil, that Iran is ready to provide Lebanon with more fuel.

According to a report from Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman's office on Friday, Amirabdollahian made the remarks during a phone call with Bassil.

In return, Bassil expressed gratitude to Iran for selling and shipping fuel to Lebanon, as well as congratulating Amirabdollahian on his appointment as Iran's foreign minister.

Bassil also called for an all-out expansion of ties with Iran.

He further criticized those who want to starve the Lebanese people in order to achieve their political ambitions.

He then delivered to Amirabdollahian the message from Lebanese President Michel Aoun to his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi.

Regional development was also a topic of conversation between the two politicians.

During the conversation, Amirabdollahian stated that Iran has no limitations for collaboration with Lebanon and emphasized his country's support for Lebanon's government, army, and the Resistance.
