Some 30 Million Doses of Vaccine Injected in Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said nearly 30 million jabs of COVID-19 vaccines have been injected across the country.

New figures released by the Health Ministry of Iran indicate that more than 29,453,400 doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Monday, as nearly 20 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine.

While more than 29.56 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 5,156,900 following the detection of 27,579 new cases since Sunday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 3,973 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 4,394,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 111,257, saying the disease has taken the lives of 583 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 7,628 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 221 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.58 million.
