Nearly 2,000 New COVID Cases Hospitalized in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients who have been admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at around 2,000, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
The new figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 5,716,300 following the detection of 13,504 new cases since yesterday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 1,968 patients have been admitted to the hospital.
At least 5,234,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.
The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 122,868, saying the disease has taken the lives of 276 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,218 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.
More than 33.3 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 45.74 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 238 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.86 million.
