Sustainable Energy Supply Crucial to Iran’s Economic Growth: President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sustainable supply of energy is absolutely necessary in order for the Iranian economy to grow, President Ebrahim Raisi said, asking various organizations to come up with proposals to improve consumption standards.

Addressing a Sunday meeting of the Administration’s Economic Coordination Headquarters, Raisi said the country’s economic growth hinges on the sustainable supply of energy, caring about social justice, and supporting the vulnerable groups.

He also called on the executive organizations to put forward proposals for the improvement of consumption standards and materialization of social justice.

The participants in the meeting also weighed plans for the even distribution of energy among all social strata, ensuring the logical consumption of energy, and supplying and distributing sustainable energy in the long term.

Earlier this month, Raisi ordered the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) to increase the country’s nuclear electricity production capacity to 10,000 megawatts.
