Over 1,280 Patients with Covid-19 Hospitalized Over Past 24 Hours
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Health Ministry announced on Friday that 9,893 new patients with the COVID-19 infection were identified over the past 24 hours, as nearly 1,285 people were hospitalized.
The ministry also put the total number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in the country at about 125,998 with 123 more people have been killed by the deadly disease since Thursday.
Out of a total of 5,909,402 infected people, 5,481,737 have been reported to have recovered or discharged from hospitals, as Some 4,014 patients are still in critical condition and are being treated in intensive care units.
According to the Health Ministry, 52,199,440 Iranians have so far received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccination, while 33,088,940 have received the second dosage.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 have passed 245.5 million globally, according to Johns Hopkins University. The number of confirmed deaths stands at more than 4.98 million. More than 6.94 billion vaccination doses have been administered globally, according to Our World in Data.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and other aid groups have appealed to leaders of the world's biggest 20 economies to fund a $23.4 billion plan to bring COVID-19 vaccines, tests and drugs to the world's poorest countries in the next 12 months.
