Iran Victorious over Paraguay at Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Defending champion Iran began the 10th edition of the Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup on Tuesday with a win over Paraguay on Tuesday.
Team Melli came from 3-0 behind to beat the South American team 8-6 in Dubai, the UAE.
Mehdi Shirmohammadi (two goals), Mohammad Ali Mokhtari (two goals), Mohammad Moradi (two goals), Mostafa Kiani and Amir Hossein Akbari scored for Iran.
Iran will play Japan and Russia on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively in Group B.
Iran won the last Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup in 2019 with a 6-3 win over Spain.
