Over 5.7 Million COVID Cases Recover in Iran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 5.72 million coronavirus patients have so far recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry said.

Figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Tuesday indicate that 6,430 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with 1,053 of them hospitalized.

More than 5,720,800 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,051,600 who have contracted the disease, the ministry added.

It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 128,406, saying the disease has taken the lives of 134 patients over the past 24 hours.

Some 3,470 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.

The ministry also said that nearly 56 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 43 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 254 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.12 million.
