Yellow Vest Protesters March in Paris against Macron’s Policies (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yellow Vest protesters took to the streets of Paris on Saturday for a weekly protest against the administration of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Protesters were seen marching amid a high presence of police in riot gear.
Also, various antifascist groups and protesters belonging to the Yellow Vests movement marched against state violence and discrimination, as well as far-right politics, in Paris on Saturday.
Organizers of the protest included Action Antifasciste Paris-Banlieue and Act Up-Paris.
The protests, which were sparked in 2018 by the planned introduction of a fuel tax, have since become a general movement of discontent over the status quo. In recent months, it has also included Macron's handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the introduction of the health pass.
