Foolad Beaten by Trentino at FIVB Volleyball Club World C’ship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foolad Sirjan of Iran suffered its second loss in a row in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship Thursday morning.

Foolad was defeated aganst the Italian giant 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) in Group B.

The Iranian team, who had lost to Brazilian Sada Cruzeiro 3-0 in the first day, failed to qualify for the final four.

Outside hitter Amir Hossein Esfandiar was the only Sirjan Foolad player to reach double digits with 10 points.

Opposite Daniele Lavia led all scorers with 16 points, one more than Michieletto, who ended the match with 12 kills and one block besides his two aces.

The FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship is an international men's club volleyball competition organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body.

The competition was first contested in 1989 in Italy. It was not held between 1993 and 2008, but since 2009, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Qatar and Brazil.
