TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian voiced the country’s readiness to provide technical and engineering support for the Republic of Azerbaijan in the process of reconstruction of the areas that have been liberated after the last war over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

In a meeting with his Azeri counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, held in Baku on Wednesday, Amirabdollahian said Iran is ready for “the export of technical and engineering services” to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He also expressed Iran’s preparedness to offer its capabilities to help the neighboring state in the reconstruction of its liberated territories.

Stressing the need for closer cooperation between Tehran and Baku in various fields, the top Iranian diplomat called for efforts to broaden interaction between the two countries’ private sectors.

For his part, Bayramov described the agreements that the Iranian and Azeri presidents have talked about on the sidelines of a recent ECO summit in Turkmenistan as the road map to the new relations between the two states.

Pointing to the strategic ties between Azerbaijan and Iran in the energy industry and transportation, he hailed the growing cooperation in the international organizations, such as the ECO.

Heading a delegation, Amirabdollahian arrived in Baku on Wednesday morning for an official visit. He has held meetings with the Azeri president and parliament speaker.
