2 IRGC Forces Killed in Line of Duty in Southeast Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force lost two service members in an armed clash with outlaws in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

The IRGC Ground Force’s Quds Base said the two were martyred on Saturday night in a gunfight with the outlaws in the provincial capital, Zahedan.

The two IRGC servicemen were martyred as they were carrying out an operation against the armed outlaws, said a statement.

In July 2018, anti-revolutionary terrorists attacked a border post of the Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada Base in the western province of Kurdistan, killing 11 forces of the base.

The IRGC is tasked with protecting the country’s northwestern and southeastern borders.
