Iran Ready to Provide Qatar with Technical Help in FIFA World Cup Preparation


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed the country’s readiness to offer technical and engineering services to Qatar which is going to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup games.

The top Iranian diplomat arrived in Qatar on Monday night after a one-day visit to Oman.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Doha, Amirabdollahian said he is going to hold meetings with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

The Iranian foreign minister said he will talk about a series of bilateral, regional and international issues with the Qatari authorities.

He noted that his visit to Oman and Qatar have been made as part of plans to strengthen the Iranian administration’s policy of good neighborliness.

Pointing to the opportunities for cooperation with Qatar, Amirabdollahian said a series of talks have been already held with the Arab country as it is going to host the FIFA World Cup.

The foreign minister noted that Iran has great capacities in this regard, pointing to the technical and engineering services and the facilities that Iran can provide to help Qatar.

Amirabdollahianalso stated that discussions will be held about the promotion of mutual cooperation between Tehran and Doha, particularly in the trade area.
