COVID Jabs Injected in Iran Surpass 125 Million


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Friday that more than 125 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been injected across the country.

New figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that more than 125,262,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Friday, with over 60.26 million people having received the first dose of the vaccine.

While more than 43.24 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 6,217,000 following the detection of 2,539 new cases since Thursday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 285 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 6,060,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 132,026, saying the disease has taken the lives of 24 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 1,409 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 321 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.54 million.
