Iran Pursuing Balanced Foreign Policy, Active Diplomacy: FM


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian described a balanced foreign policy, dynamic diplomacy and smart interaction as the framework of the country’s Foreign Ministry in the efforts to safeguard the Islamic Revolution’s values and fulfill the national interests.

On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian held a video conference with all ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of Iran abroad.

The online meeting was also attended by the deputies and directors general of the Foreign Ministry.

In the meeting, Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian commemorated the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and the memory of Imam Khomeini and the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution.

He also congratulated the blessed days of Ten-Day Dawn and spoke about the latest political developments regarding Iran’s foreign policy.

Referring to the transformational plans of Iranian President Raisi's government, Amirabdollahian described balanced foreign policy, dynamic diplomacy and smart interaction as the framework used by the Foreign Ministry to regulate foreign relations in order to preserve the original values of the Islamic Revolution and ensure the maximum interests of the great Iranian nation.

He also pointed to Iran’s foreign policy achievements over the past few months like providing urgent public health needs and vaccines on a large scale.

Amirabdollahian called on the heads of Iran’s diplomatic missions to make each and every effort in line with the new government’s policies and missions and do their utmost to deepen and develop Iran's bilateral relations with other countries and pay special attention to the needs of Iranian nationals abroad.

He stressed that it is necessary for the heads of delegations to be present among Iranians abroad and to be closely informed about the problems and try for their solution.

The foreign minister also stressed that while Iran’s neighbors and the Asia region are among the main priorities in the country's foreign policy, Iran is determined to expand balanced and good relations with countries in the other regions, including Africa, Latin America and Europe.

At the end, Amirabdollahian talked about the latest developments in the nuclear negotiations in Vienna aimed at lifting sanctions and reviving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
