Top Commander Hails Security, Peace along Iran-Pakistan Border


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri underlined that security prevails along the common border with Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, he described it as the border of peace and friendship, noting that transportation and trade is underway in the area without any problem.  

Major General Baqeri added that the security situation in the border areas in the country’s southeastern region is good and getting better every day.

There is also good security along the border with Afghanistan, he stated, adding that if there are minor issues, they are resolved by the two countries’ border guards.

During his visit to Sistan and Balouchestan, Major General Baqeri is accompanied by a number of senior commanders, including Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari.
