Ukraine Football League Suspended Due to War


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Ukrainian Premier League was suspended due to the war in the country.

In a brief statement, the league said the suspension was due to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's decision to impose martial law. It did not give any planned date to resume.

Iranian forward Shahab Zahedi plays as a forward for Ukrainian Premier League club Zorya Luhansk.

Also, the International Paralympic Committee said it was in talks with sports officials in Ukraine and Russia as their teams prepare to head to China for the start of the Paralympic Games next week.
