Iran Flag-Bearer of Social Justice
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hailing the Islamic Republic as the flag-bearer of social justice, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said ensuring sustainable economic and social justice requires even distribution of capacities.
Addressing a meeting of the Supreme Council of Welfare and Social Security on Thursday, President Raisi said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is the flag-bearer of social justice and therefore the existence of poverty in Islamic society is not in any way acceptable for this system."
The main and fundamental solution to poverty alleviation is to reform the indicators and infrastructure in order to establish social justice, the president added, noting, "It is true that in order to create sustainable economic and social justice, justice must be done in the distribution of capacities and facilities, but it should not lead to neglecting the poor and needy."
"Reform of structures and indicators has a higher priority than solving the problems of the poor and needy, but at the same time with the implementation of long-term and structural programs and measures, the poor and needy should be treated with dignity and urgent plans to address absolute poverty," he added, according to the president’s official website.
The president then highlighted Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s emphasis on the preparation of an appendix of justice for all decisions and actions, saying, "The axis of this government's work is the administration of justice. No decision or action in this government should create and intensify economic pressure on the poor."
The president finally noted that another necessary step for structural reforms to alleviate poverty and improve the welfare of the people in his government is to promote the role and share of the people and use the people's capacities in planning.
