Iran Partakes in UN Human Rights Council Meeting


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian delegation has taken part in a three-day meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Switzerland.

The Iranian delegation that has taken part in the high-ranking meeting in Geneva is led by the Judiciary’s Deputy for International Affairs and Secretary of Iran’s Human Rights Headquarters Kazem Gharibabadi.

The meeting kicked off on Monday morning with speeches by the Swiss president, the UN chief and the president of the UN General Assembly.

The heads of state, foreign ministers and human rights officials from many countries will address the 3-day meeting.

Then, the ordinary and seasonal session of the council will begin, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

Gharibabadi is going to outline Iran’s position on human rights at the high-ranking meeting.
