COVID Daily Deaths in Iran Drop to below 30
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus in Iran was down to 28 on Tuesday, while fewer than 400 patients have been hospitalized across the country.
The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Tuesday indicate that the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country have reached 140,678, as the pandemic has taken the lives of 28 patients over the past 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, 2,737 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 378 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.
More than 6,927,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7,197,500 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.
Some 1,400 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.
The ministry also said that over 64.11 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.22 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.61 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 500 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.2 million.
