Iran Reports 22 New Deaths from COVID-19


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran stood at 22 over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

The new figures released by the ministry indicate that the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran has reached 140,952 after the disease took the lives of 22 patients over the past 24 hours.

The total number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 7,215,512 following the detection of 608 new cases since Friday.

More than 140 of those affected by the disease in the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital

At least 6,963,991 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 1,087 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

Over 64. 25 million Iranians have so far received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.45 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.88 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 508 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.24 million.
