Iran 30th at Women’s Junior Handball World Championship


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Italy 35-20 and came 30th in the 2022 IHF Women’s Junior Handball World Championship on Friday.

Iran had registered its first ever win in the competition on Thursday, beating Mexico 46-26.

Iran was held to a 19-19 draw with Guinea in Group B opener and lost to Tunisia (29-24) and Sweden (33-15) in its following games.

Iran lost to India (31-30) and Slovakia (37-22) in the President’s Cup.

Iran participated in the world championship for the first time.

The 23rd edition of the IHF Women's Junior World Championship is being held in Slovenia from June 22 to July 3 under the aegis of the International Handball Federation (IHF).
