Iran, Belarus Ink Audit MoU

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Officials from Iran and Belarus signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the auditing organizations of the two countries.

President of the Supreme Audit Court of Iran Mehrdad Bazrpash and Chairman of the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of the Republic of Belarus Vasily Gerasimov held a meeting on the sidelines of the 9th Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization Supreme Audit Institutions (ECOSAI), held in Kazakhstan on Friday.

In the gathering, the two officials signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the auditing organizations of Iran and Belarus. The 13-article MoU entails interaction between the two states for five years.

Denouncing the cruel sanctions that cause suffering to the nations, Bazrpash said Iran and Belarus can enhance coordination to nullify the sanctions together.

“One way to neutralize the sanctions is unity among those sanctioned against the cruel country that imposes sanctions,” the Iranian official added.

He also noted that the new MoU with Belarus marks the beginning of close cooperation between the audit institutions of the two countries.

For his part, Gerasimov decried the sanctions against Tehran and Minsk, saying Belarus and Iran are friends helping each other in tough times.
